Can you reveal something about yourself that most people don't know?
I would say that most people didn’t know that I lived in Bahrain for 10 years and I came to Canada when I was at Grade 7. To be honest, it was a huge culture shock to me since there’s a bit more freedom here compared to back home. All the food portion was bigger and the recess thing in elementary made me so confused, because growing up I only had one recess and I also needed to write exams as a kid. But I always like to compare the differences in the weather, since in Bahrain it was mostly covered in sand and we have the occasional sandstorm, while in Canada there was so much lush greenery, and I even got excited when I saw snow! But it’s nice to see lots of differences and similarities as I think about the past nowadays. It’s especially humbling knowing that we started with a few appliances, so at our first apartment we ate dinner on the floor. But overtime we grew and learned more, I just think it nice to know that we all have humble beginnings and we all have to start from somewhere.
